Just before the weekend kicked off, we were contacted by a lovely lady requesting some help. We set up an appointment and discussed ways that the Outsourced team could help her. She wanted a business make-over, and a business plan to help boost her sales and to promote her small start up business more.
I took on the role of creating a logo, as well as IG/FB banners for her business. Each step of the way, I would communicate with her and check that the images I was creating were along the lines of what she was envisioning for her business. Before the weekend was up, we had successfully created a logo, and social media banners. Then we got onto making business cards, and posters for the markets the attends, as well as cards for her jewelry to go onto, and labels for her postage packages - this client is going all out. It is fantastic to see, this lady giving it her all to promoting her business and making something of it.
It was really exciting to create something meaningful and help a client out. Communication was key through out this whole process. There is still more work to do, but that's for this week.
My main two points of this - Communication, and Attitude.
Communication is key through this business (or any business?!). It is important to relay information between Client and VA, this is so everyone is on the same page. What I might have been envisioning may have been totally different to my clients views, so to save a lot of time (redoing projects) - I communicate with her along the way. Client input is very important - as you are being paid to do the job they want done, and properly too.
This is where attitude comes in to play. Attitude for the VA, but also for the client. The client I am still working with has such a great positive attitude. She is 100% invested into getting her business up and running - her aim is to make it a full time job. She is willing to invest so much into getting it up and running - this is where her need for business cards, advertisements for markets, card backings for her jewelry, and labels for her packaging comes in. Some clients I have worked with in the past just require a new logo and that's as far as they are wanting to go. That's where their drive ends. Now I'm not saying you need to go all out, but you need to have that passion, that drive, those goals. That's what will set you apart. That's what will make you sucessfull.
I leave you with some of the logo concept designs I created .... can you guess which one my client picked? Check out her page an find out.
