Time flies by when your having fun ...

So the saying goes. And what fun I have been having since the last time I wrote on this blog. I packed up my tribe last Thursday (just before school ended) and headed off for a week long holiday. We drove about 6 hours (but longer when you take into account the many toilet/food stops we had to make) to visit some extended family, who live in a small coastal town. We only mange to see our extended family about twice a year (and normally during the later half of the year school holidays). It was so lovely visiting them again. So peaceful being out in the coastal country. Life moves at a slower pace.

City life is so busy! I feel like from the time I get up, till the time I go to bed at night - I am always on the go! There is traffic, there is people everywhere, there is rushing trying to fit in as many things as you can in the day, there is constantly waiting on someone or something else, there is at times no cooperation and you feel your on your own, there is time schedules or restrictions to keep to.

Country life? Way more relaxed! Sure its spread out more, and at times can feel isolated. But I tell you - there is NO traffic jams! No people squashed into a tiny space like sardines in a can! No constant noise of cars, road works, people, busy life. Its just nature and a few farm animals (with the occasional truck driving past, or train!). Country people are so friendly and nice too - they have the time to care about their community. They don't mind talking to "out of town-ers" on their morning stroll (yes stroll, they enjoy taking their time walking). I just loved the atmosphere and environment while away on holiday.

It felt like when you go to a retreat center, or get a massage. All those things on your mind leaves for a moment, and you are left with peace and mindfulness. Leaving the city and all that busyness behind. Refocus and recenter yourself. Gather your thoughts, and plan for ahead.

My tribe enjoyed a few days fishing, and many walks along the beach finding "treasures". We enjoyed spending quality family time together. I was able to be there and present for my tribe. I spend a number of late nights talking away and reminiscing on the good past times, as well as gaining different perspectives on topics, and having enlightenment.

I also manged to squeeze in some work. That wouldn't have been possible if I was working a 9-5 office job. I wouldn't be able to take time off to enjoy a trip away with my tribe. I would either have to sacrifice my annual leave, or go without pay (and sacrifice my weekly pay check). I am so grateful for my job - and that I can work from anywhere!

Now's the time to sit for a moment and evaluate your current situation. Are you over stretching yourself? Do you feel like your on the go non-stop? Starting to lose focus or passion because your overwhelmed? Sounds like you need to take a break - trade your view of the concrete jungle for some green pastures - or even a vibrant green forest. Fill your lunges with some sea air - not smoggy air. You can't give your business 100% if you are not functioning at your peek performance. You need a recharge.

If you want a holiday, and need some help working out how to organize it contact me, and I will help plan it out - from the holiday, down to looking after your business while you are away. You deserve a peaceful recharging break! You are worth it. Trust me.
